Over the years we have spent serving enterprises, the question we hear most often is this: the money has been spent, so why are inquiries still unstable? Break the problem down and you will see that most companies are not missing a single channel; they are missing a lead generation system that can run on its own. The website is the storefront but cannot be found in search, promotion brings traffic but no one catches it, and customer service receives inquiries but does not retain the leads. Yunxuan Network Technology serves small and medium-sized enterprises and offline businesses across industries nationwide, providing full-chain digital marketing and technical development. This article does not deal in concepts; it explains how we actually help clients connect the three pieces—AI customer service, SEO optimization, and online promotion—into one line, and the pitfalls that are easy to hit at each step.
1. Recognize one thing first: lead generation is a system problem, not a channel problem
Many enterprises are used to splitting lead generation into isolated purchasing actions: hire someone to build a website, open a promotion account, buy a customer service software package. The result is that every link is working, but together they produce no result. We have reviewed a large number of projects, and there are three common breakpoints.
The first is the entry breakpoint. The corporate website is built, but the page structure, titles and descriptions, and content organization are not designed according to the rules of search engines and AI retrieval. When customers search for industry terms, product terms, or region-plus-demand terms, they cannot find you. The website is effectively a showroom no one knows about.
The second is the traffic breakpoint. The promotion account is opened, but keywords and landing pages do not match. The search term is “project quotation,” while the landing page talks about company honors. Feed ad creatives are lively, but clicking through requires filling in seven or eight fields. The problem is not insufficient traffic; it is leaking too fast.
The third is the reception breakpoint. This is the segment most easily overlooked. A customer views the official website at ten at night and clicks the consultation button, but no one replies. During the day, customer service is busy, so the customer turns to a competitor. A phone number is left, but no one follows up until three days later. The attention bought with real money at the front end is lost within hours at the back end.
That is why, when we build solutions for clients nationwide, we basically follow the sequence of “website development as the foundation—SEO optimization as the long-term entry point—online promotion for short-term volume—AI customer service for reception and lead capture,” rather than selling a single service point by point. This structure applies to manufacturing factories, engineering companies, trading stores, and service-oriented enterprises. The difference lies only in weighting: industries with high ticket prices and long decision cycles give more weight to long-term entry points; industries with low ticket prices and fast decisions give more weight to promotion volume and immediate reception.
2. SEO optimization: not publishing articles, but making “being findable” a foundational capability
SEO optimization has been badly misrepresented in the industry. Many service providers equate it with “how many advertorials to publish each month.” An enterprise signs for a year, rankings do not move, and traffic does not come. Our approach is to break SEO into three layers and deliver layer by layer.
Layer one: the website's underlying architecture must be crawlable and indexable
The SEO foundation must be laid during the corporate website development stage, not fixed afterward. When we do custom website development, we handle these things at the same time: clear, readable URL structures with no more than three levels of section hierarchy; titles, descriptions, and H tags written independently according to each page's topic rather than using a site-wide template; proper mobile adaptation with loading speed controlled within a reasonable range; compressed images with alt text; submitted sitemaps and configured robots rules; structured data marked up by type, such as enterprise, product, and FAQ. Clients cannot see this work, but it determines whether all subsequent content can be effectively indexed.
Here is a new change that is often overlooked: customers now get information not only from traditional search engines but also from AI platforms such as Doubao, Qwen, and DeepSeek. When AI answers questions like “which manufacturer is reliable for a certain type of equipment” or “how to choose an engineering company in a certain place,” it crawls and cites public content. This is what we do with GEO generative engine optimization—organizing company introductions, product parameters, service processes, and FAQs into content with clear structure, explicit facts, and citable value, so that enterprises also have a chance to be mentioned in AI search results. It shares the same content foundation as traditional SEO optimization, but the writing approach differs: SEO leans toward keywords and page authority, while GEO leans toward Q&A structure, factual density, and credible sources.
Layer two: content must revolve around customers' real search intent
When we plan keywords for clients, we do not look at the size of the keyword library; we look at intent classification. Generally, we divide them into four categories: industry awareness terms (such as “what is feed advertising”), product and service terms (“how much does corporate website development cost”), regional demand terms (“website SEO company in a certain place”), and decision comparison terms (“SEO optimization versus paid search bidding, which is more cost-effective”). The four categories correspond to different pages: awareness terms are handled by news or Q&A pages, product terms by service detail pages, regional terms by landing pages, and comparison terms by solution explanation pages. When pages align with intent, conversion rates naturally differ.
On content updates, we value “useful” more than “many.” A technical article that clearly explains process parameters, delivery cycles, and after-sales terms often brings higher-quality inquiries than ten generic industry press releases. For manufacturing and engineering clients nationwide, we ask enterprises to provide real materials: workshop photos, inspection reports, project lists, and common troubleshooting. These are first-hand materials, and they are also what search engines and AI are more willing to cite.
Layer three: use data to judge whether SEO is worth continuing to invest in
SEO optimization is a long-term effort, but it is not an indefinite wait. Each month we look at several indicators: the number of indexed pages, the ranking distribution of target keywords, visits from organic search, and the number of consultation conversions from organic traffic. If indexing grows normally within three to six months and long-tail terms begin to gain volume, the direction is right. If indexing stagnates for a long time, check the technical layer first. If there are rankings but no inquiries, check the landing page and reception process. We lay out this judgment standard directly during monthly reviews with clients, avoiding the muddled accounting of “reporting rankings but not inquiries.”
3. Online promotion: calculate the accounts clearly for short-term volume, and do not burn money in the wrong places
Online promotion is a big basket that includes Baidu promotion, feed ads, Douyin promotion, and local life platforms. The mistake enterprises make most easily is “whatever is hot, do that,” rather than “wherever my customers are, do that.” When we run placements for clients nationwide, we first match channels, then optimize accounts.
How to choose channels: work backward from the customer's decision path
For customers with clear needs who actively search, such as “equipment procurement,” “project quotation,” or “company registration process,” search promotion is the main channel, with clear intent and a short conversion path. For customers without clear needs who need to be stimulated, such as home improvement, store consumption, or training courses, feed ads and short videos are more suitable, using content to spark interest and then guide lead capture. For physical stores doing local business, local life platforms plus same-city short videos are the basic foundation. For factories and trading companies doing nationwide business, a combination of search and feed ads, plus short videos for brand endorsement.
We do not recommend that small and medium-sized enterprises spread across all channels right from the start. When the budget is limited, first penetrate one main channel thoroughly, achieve a stable conversion cost and script, and then replicate to a second channel. Omnichannel is the result, not the starting point.
Key actions for account optimization
In search promotion, when we provide paid search management, we focus on several core points: group keywords by intent and pair different groups with different landing pages; continuously add negative keywords to block invalid searches; write clear differentiators in creative titles instead of empty phrases like “factory direct sales, lowest price”; and make the first screen of the landing page answer the three questions customers care about most—what you can provide, why they should trust you, and how to contact you next. Feed ads rely more on creatives and audience packages. Creatives must be tested, audiences must be layered, and landing page loading speed directly affects cost.
Placement data should be viewed at three levels: impressions and clicks show creative and bid performance; visits and dwell time show landing page quality; consultations and lead captures show reception capability. Many clients only watch the first two levels and assume high cost is a bidding problem, when in fact the landing page and customer service are eating the conversions.
The relationship between promotion and SEO: one steps on the gas, the other builds the road
Clients often ask whether they still need SEO optimization after doing promotion. Our answer is: promotion buys the current position, while SEO optimization accumulates long-term assets. When promotion stops, traffic goes to zero; pages built through SEO will continue to bring organic visits. Both share landing pages and content. High-converting keywords found through promotion can in turn guide SEO content topics; Q&A content accumulated through SEO can also provide material for promotional creatives. On budget allocation, we generally suggest that growth-stage enterprises focus on promotion with SEO as support, and gradually increase the share of SEO and GEO during the stable stage to bring down customer acquisition costs.
4. AI customer service: the undervalued conversion link that determines the return on all previous investment
If SEO optimization and online promotion are pouring water into a bucket, AI customer service is the board at the bottom of the bucket. We have seen too many enterprises that invest a not-insignificant amount at the front end each month and do have consultation volume, but the lead capture rate will not rise. Upon asking, we learn: no one answers at night, no one answers on weekends, customer service is handling five customers at once, and customers asking about parameters have to wait for technical staff to reply. These are not traffic problems; they are reception problems.
The AI agents we build for enterprises have a clear positioning: not to replace human customer service, but to free humans from repetitive questions and catch inquiries outside working hours. Specifically, they do several things.
- 24/7 instant response. When customers browse the official website late at night and open the consultation window, AI customer service replies immediately, retaining the person first and then assessing the need.
- Answer based on the enterprise knowledge base. Product parameters, service processes, price ranges, after-sales policies, and case information are organized into the knowledge base. The AI answers what customers ask, without making things up or making random promises.
- Actively guide lead capture. During the conversation, it naturally collects need type, budget range, contact information, and location to form structured leads, rather than simply saying “please leave your phone number.”
- Routing and handoff to humans. When a high-intent customer or complex question is identified, it automatically transfers to the appropriate business staff member along with the complete conversation record, so the human does not have to start asking from scratch.
- Lead retention and review. All conversations are recorded. Which questions are asked most often and which types of customers convert better can all be reviewed, feeding back into promotional keywords and content topics.
One client of ours saw a clear increase in the proportion of nighttime inquiries captured after launching AI customer service, and the lead capture rate rose accordingly. This is not some magical technology; it simply fills in the time periods that were previously missed. One reminder: before launching AI customer service, the knowledge base must be organized and scripts calibrated. The boundaries of answers must be clearly defined, and rules for transferring to humans must be set for questions involving price, delivery time, and commitments. After launch, continuous tuning based on real conversations is also necessary. The conversation records from the first two weeks are the best training material.
5. Connecting the four pieces into a closed loop: our implementation rhythm for clients nationwide
After discussing individual points, let us talk about the whole. When we provide full-case managed digital marketing services to clients, we generally follow four steps. The rhythm is for reference.
Step one: diagnosis and positioning. Look at the enterprise's existing website, promotion accounts, and consultation records to determine where the breakpoints are. Some clients have problems with the website, some with placement, and some with reception. Fix the leakiest board first.
Step two: website development and content foundation. Custom official websites balance brand image, desktop and mobile experience, and the underlying architecture for AI retrieval and indexing, while planning the SEO content structure and GEO Q&A materials at the same time. Only when this step is solid can the quality of later promotional landing pages be guaranteed.
Step three: promotion volume and reception launch. Start placements according to the channel matching principle, launch AI customer service at the same time, and get the consultation reception and lead capture process running smoothly. What matters at this stage is conversion cost and lead capture rate, not mere click volume.
Step four: review and iteration. Look at data monthly. On the promotion side, adjust keywords and creatives; on the SEO side, add content and pages; on the customer service side, adjust the knowledge base and scripts; on the GEO side, update Q&A materials. A lead generation system is cultivated, not completed in a one-time delivery.
We have served different types of clients nationwide with this playbook, including engineering companies, manufacturing factories, and trading stores. Industries differ and weightings differ, but the structure is connected. It should be emphasized that Yunxuan Network Technology's services cover the whole country. Office locations are only contact information and do not affect our service radius. No matter which city the client is in, website development, SEO optimization, online promotion, AI customer service, and GEO optimization can all be delivered through remote collaboration. For local offline clients, we also build lead generation solutions according to the same nationwide standards.
6. Several pitfalls that must be made clear
First, do not believe “guaranteed number one ranking.” Search engine rankings are affected by multiple factors including algorithms, competition, and content. Legitimate service providers offer optimization plans and process indicators, not chest-beating promises. The more absolute the promise, the more you should be on guard.
Second, do not treat the website as a one-time project. Website development is the starting point. Content updates, speed maintenance, security patches, and data monitoring all need to be done continuously. An official website that has not been updated for three years will find it hard to be preferentially cited by search engines and AI platforms.
Third, do not let promotion and customer service operate separately. Promotional keywords and customer service scripts must align. Whatever term the customer searched to arrive, the first sentence from customer service should address that need; otherwise, conversion rate is lost for nothing.
Fourth, do not ignore data ownership. Data permissions for promotion accounts, website backends, and customer service systems must be in the enterprise's own hands. The service provider is responsible for operations, and the enterprise must have the ability to view and export at any time. This is the basic premise of cooperation.
Fifth, do not expect one set of materials to work across all channels. Search, feed ads, short videos, and local platforms have different logic, different materials, and different assessment indicators. Using the same set of materials across all channels will inevitably waste budget.
7. One sentence for enterprises currently making lead generation decisions
If you are only planning to do one thing right now, first check your reception process—whether inquiries are answered promptly, whether leads are followed up, and whether nighttime and weekend traffic is being wasted. This is the step with the highest return on investment. If reception is fine, then look back at the entry point: whether the website can be found in search, whether the content can answer customers' questions, and whether promotional terms match the landing pages. AI customer service, SEO optimization, and online promotion all have value when done separately, but only when connected do they become a system.
Yunxuan Network Technology has been engaged in digital marketing and technical development for twenty years, serving small and medium-sized enterprises and offline clients across industries nationwide. From corporate website development, website SEO, and GEO generative engine optimization to Baidu promotion, feed ads, and Douyin promotion, and further to AI agent development and full-case managed services, we prefer to first help clients diagnose the problem clearly, and then discuss how much budget to invest and which channels to pursue. There are no shortcuts in lead generation, but there are methods. When the method is right, the money is spent wisely.
